Job Description
AVS is looking for an experienced residential AV systems designer for automated luxury homes. In addition to computer proficiency, an ideal candidate must have at least 2 years’ experience designing, installing, or selling a broad range of integrated AV and Smart Home systems.
This person will take the project requirements from the Sales team and design systems that meet the needs of the customer along with creating related proposals and engineering documentation.
This position may offer the opportunity to work remotely.
Responsibilities
- Design Home Automation, Audio, Video, Networks, Security, Shades, Lighting, & CCTV
- Design wiring and component plans
- Create proposals and other supporting documentation.

- Must have the ability to sit and work at a computer station for extended periods of time
- Must be self-directed, positive and professional
- Must be a problem solver and an effective communicator
- Exceptional attention to detail
Required Skills
- Ability to understand house plans, electrical components
- Fluency with MS Office
- Residential A/V Systems
- Residential Security Systems
- Residential Shades / Lighting Systems
- Residential Networks
Preferred Experience
- Savant, Crestron, Control4, Lutron
- Bidding Software – Dtools
- Visio
- Commercial AV Design
Education & Certification
- Must possess at least a high school diploma or GED equivalency
- A formal education in electronics or a related field preferred.
- Manufacturer specific training is a plus
