Working in teams, Field Techs are hands on self-starters who plan their work, use skill and creativity to solve problems, and deliver client systems on time and on budget.

 

Reports to:  Director of Operations

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform all phases of the installation and configuration of integrated residential technology systems
  • Complete daily job notes in T-Sheets
  • Identify challenges and obstacles early and develop creative solutions to overcome them
  • Demonstrate Legato’s commitment to Concierge level service through sensitivity to client requests and needs
  • All other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations

 

Skills and Abilities Required:

In addition to 5 years of experience in residential electronic systems installation the Lead Technician candidate should have strong networking knowledge, trouble-shooting skills, and ability to manage day to day onsite installation activities.  Additional skills and abilities include:

  • Expert knowledge of residential systems integration including Security systems (CCTV and access control), Communication (Voice, Network, Broad Band Access & Digital Satellite Systems), Lighting control (Lutron, Savant, Control4) Climate control (Motorized shade and drapery track, HVAC, Pool Control & Fireplace control), audio video & system device control (Control4 & Savant). Audio/video, lighting, shades, climate control, security, CCTV, telephone and computer networks.
  • Expert knowledge of high-end equipment and control systems including the ability to setup, configure, calibrate, and commission equipment after physical installation
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blue prints, electronic schematics, and user manuals
  • Expert knowledge of construction techniques and wiring methods for new construction and retrofit projects
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools used to complete physical installations of speakers, displays, equipment racks, and ventilation systems
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, assess multiple demands, and manage priorities
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively in person and/or via email, phone, or text to varied audiences
  • Ability to handle and set up different size ladders, scaffolding, and operate different types of lifts
  • Strong use of proper safety protocols and safety equipment for specific tasks and personal protection
  • Ability to directly manage assigned Field Technicians to strategically complete daily project tasks in accordance with project goals and timelines
  • Strong ability to perform calculations, analyze reports, and engage in strategic and creative problem solving.
  • Language requirements are reading, writing, and speaking in English
  • Physical requirements include standing, sitting, walking, bending, climbing, reaching and lifting up to 80 lbs.

  • Fluent with Control4 Programming (Savant a plus)
  • Strong people skills
