Job Description:
As an AV Technician, you will assist Lead Technicians and Project Managers to complete the installation of home theater and media systems, distributed audio systems, and lighting and shading systems in residential and commercial environments in and around New York City.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Home theater and media systems installation and calibration
- Distributed audio systems installation and calibration
- Lighting control system keypad and software installation
- Motorized shading installation
- Low voltage wire terminations
- Smart remote programming
Work Experience: 2 years experience in AV or related field (IT, Electrical, Live Events)
Location: Please apply only if currently residing in New York City (5 Boroughs). Occasional travel necessary
Starting Rate: $25 – $35 per hour, based on experience
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- 2 years of general experience in HDTV / Speaker Installation
- Universal Remote Programming
- Familiarity with and experience using basic power tools
- HDMI, Cat5 / Cat6, RG6 (Coax), and Speaker Wire Termination and Management
- A/V and Networking Racks setup and buildout
- Ability to lift heavy items (50lbs +)
Desired Qualifications:
- Lutron RadioRa and Homeworks
- Sonos Music Systems
- Experience working on active construction sites
- LV / Wall Plate Installation
- AV Rack Setup
- OSHA 30
- Knowledge of A/V Distribution and Matrix Switching
- Knowledge of Savant Home Automation
- Experience reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
