Job Description

The Systems Integrator (Tech 2) is responsible for implementing the communicated company’s technical vision and leading some implementation aspects of technology development and delivery directions of Design Electronics. The primary role of the Systems Integrator is to integrate company process with the appropriate technologies. The Systems Integrator is primarily concerned with Quality & Sustainability, while still maintaining technical knowledge of process and implementation in the field. The Systems Integrator reviews system specifications, with an emphasis on serviceability. The Systems Integrator is responsible for the installation or implementation of technology initiatives within the identified project or service scope.

This individual also provides direction to team members with reference to installations and implementations. KPIs & Metrics

2. Achievement of project schedule, profit and margin objectives

Job Duties Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide feedback to the Integration (PMO) and Service departments
  • Identify company installation/ implementation related risks and opportunities with orders, projects and service related initiatives (calls)
  • Identify and evaluates opportunities, which are provided to the DE Project Manager for assessment in reference to changes or enhancements to the clients existing systems
  • Participate in the implementation of the DE Customer experience model, for the delivery of DE solutions
  • Implement industry best practices and frameworks to confirm working architectures and frameworks for future DE solutions
  • Provide feedback on technical and site options to the DE Engineering and PMO Departments
  • Proactively work with the service management team to continually improve the customer experience and resolution of support issues
  • Participate in the DE quality assurance process, including documentation, integration and system testing
  • Encourage the development of team members through mentorship and example.
  • Provide estimates for quotations
  • Implement approved technical standards and ensure adherence to them for company operations
  • Participate in project closeouts and post mortems, as requested
  • Participate in company commissioning and sign-off process, as requested
  • Perform system program trouble shooting on-site, as required
  • Work with MOTs to refine and enhance the delivery processes to support the company’s growth and enhanced customer experience
  • Share knowledge by educating clients and technical staff on emerging technologies, systems, equipment and software
  • Daily site/job status reports
  • Live submission of time bills

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Systems Integrator (Tech 2) or 5+ years industry experience in management, with an installation or service background
  • 3+ years of video experience using Video over IP (e.g. Crestron, Extron, Kramer)
  • 3+ years of audio and video conferencing solutions (e.g. MS Teams, Vidyo, Clearone and Polycom)
  • 3+ years of audio experience (e.g. Biamp, Bose, BSS, QSC and Dante Certifications)
  • 5+ years of experience in the security and access control segments (Exacq, Premisys, Honeywell, Axis, etc)
  • 3+ years experience working in high-end custom residential design
  • 3+ years experience working in high-end custom residential lighting implementations
  • 3+ years experience working in high-end custom residential automation & control systems (Security, Lighting, A/V, Temperature)
  • Post-secondary Electronics Technologist diploma or degree in a relevant field
  • Must be able to use mobile technology platforms and solutions
  • Must have working knowledge of multiple Operating system platforms (Windows, Linux, Mac O/S & Android)
  • Must have experience with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, etc.) and other software such as BlueBeam and AutoCAD
  • AVIXIA CTS or similar AV industry recognized certifications
  • Crestron level 2, with corresponding actual programming experience
  • Driven, methodical, focused, ability to self manage
  • Must possess a high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must be bondable and possess a valid driver’s license
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, documentation and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work away from home, and travel for extended periods to different sites
  • Ability to work day, evening, weekend shifts, overtime
  • Must have managed crews and work sites and been able to work successfully with general contractors
  • Must have participated in high-level & high profile projects/construction meetings
  • Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Analytical and problem-solving/troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Sitting, standing, stooping and bending for a long or extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools and to handle equipment
  • Ability to climb ladder or scaffolding
  • Be comfortable working from heights over 6 feet from ladders and platforms
  • Possess a lift license or be willing to acquire one
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs or more with assistance
  • WHIMS and Fall Arrest (training to be provided)
  • Must own and possess tools of the trade
